...and another silly video....

She kept breathing hard tonight. I thought it was cute. We've been watching a lot of the Olympics (she LOVES beach volleyball) and I wonder if she's seen the runners breathing at the end of the races....who knows????

Finally a Slideshow

So here's a slideshow I've been working on to make up for all the time I wasn't posting. It covers from Easter to about a month ago. Enjoy!!!

We're not dead!!!

Oh my gosh...I don't even know where to begin! How about.....BABIES ARE A LOT OF WORK!!! Yeah...that's a good place. ha ha. And your response should be, "Duh, Casey." Well, we have been having an absolute blast with Addison. She has hardly left me minute to use the computer, much less enough time to post on this blog. I see that I am going to have to do this in a "hit it when I can" strategy. I have so many pictures and stories I want to put up. I think I will post this video I took of her today that encompasses what she's doing now, and then I'll slowly post the older stuff that I think might be of interest. So the video in this post is us goofing around with a little stuffed Rhino. She was actually laughing HYSTERICALLY until her face was literally red, before this video, but I wanted to get that on the big video camera. But you can see her pull herself up, stand, take a couple steps and say ma....which seems to be all of her major accomplishments as of now. What can I say, she works well on cue.

Ponies and Horsepower

What a day! It started with Drew and I getting up at 5:30 to go out to another exotic car meet this morning. I took my M Roadster and Drew took his Viper of course. Judy came over and babysat Addison for a little while, and it was so nice to get out alone with Drew. Sounds like she enjoyed spending the morning with the baby too.
Last month, they were raising money at the meet for a little boy who is fighting Cancer. Drew heard his favorite car was the Viper so he went.(see video in old post below). Noah wasn't able to make it, as his Chemo had run over into that weekend. We got a message that this month they had rescheduled his Chemo so he could be there. We also heard there was a Viper day at a nearby track, which meant most of them wouldn't be in attendance - So we had to go. We thought it would be terrible if little Noah postponed his chemo and then didn't have any Vipers show up.
This little boy and his family were AMAZING. I just don't know where people find strength like that. He is nine years old and has been fighting cancer since he was five. It just keeps coming back, starting in his skull, going to one lung, then the other and now it's back in his skull. A family friend told me she hadn't seen him smile as much as he was this morning in a very long time.
Drew took him for a spin in the Viper of course and when asked how fast it was, he stated, "It's faster than the pink roller coaster at Knott's Berry Farm!" Ha Ha. I told Drew that from now on, whenever people ask him how fast the Viper is, that has to be his response.
So the morning was nice and then this afternoon our friends Ryan and Meichelle had a birthday party for their daughter Irelyn. She was turning 4 and celebrating with a my little pony themed party. Much to everyone's surprise, real ponies showed up out front, along with a mini petting zoo with a very cute miniature goat and some bunnies. We had a blast, and at 5 months old, Addison went for her first pony ride!
After the party, Ryan and Drew went for a mountain bike ride, and Meichelle and I hung out with our kids. Addison and their son Declan, who is 2 months younger than Addison, ended up cuddling on the couch. It was cute until she decided to start sucking on his head.
Needless to say, we are all pretty tuckered out at the end of this fun day! Drew and Addison are already passed out, and I'm going to join them now.

She's getting really good at eating from a spoon and sitting up on her own. Just thought I'd post a couple of videos. :-)

My First Night Out!

Well, I had my first girls' night out since I can't remember when. Drew and I go out of course, but it's so much more work now with a baby. I was getting a little cabin fever so Drew suggested that I get tickets for Paula and I to go see Cirque Du Soleil. I didn't argue...

It was INCREDIBLE. I have wanted to see one of their shows for as long as I can remember. Always coming close, but not quite getting there.

Drew babysat of course...I had plenty of milk saved up. He did a fantastic job! It felt great to get out, but it was so hard to leave also. I drove Drew crazy checking in on him...ha ha. He is such a wonderful husband and father, and I can't thank him enough for always taking care of Addison and I, and doing everything possible to make sure we are happy.

Happy Valentines Day!

Hope everyone's Valentines Day was enjoyable! Ours was quiet, but nice. Drew brought me a dozen roses and Addison and I got him some chocolates and a nice dessert wine. Drew lit the fireplace in our room and we just hung out as a family. It was nice.

I have a few pictures to post here.

First, I have the pictures I took of Addison for her 5 month mark. Just thought they were cute. The quilt she is laying on is the one my mom made for her for Christmas.

And FINALLY I have pics of her room almost finished. All we have left to do is paint the little table next to the chair and changing table white, and put a portrait of some sort in the nook above the fireplace. This room has been quite the project! Drew and I painted the diamonds on the walls by hand. The bedding, curtains, and cornice box we had custom made by a baby room designer in San Diego. Judy had the rocking chair, ottoman and the rug custom made also. Let's just say that she is either going to grow up LOVING pink, or hating it. The giraffe you see is 6 feet tall and from FAO Shwartz. Drew said she absolutely needed it. You should have seen the face of the delivery man who brought this gigantic box to our door that simply said "GIRAFFE" on the billing slip. Ha ha!

Left Brain Meets Right Brain!

I'm so excited! We were sitting here playing with Addison this morning and when I handed her the pacifier in her left hand, she switched it to her right! YAY! Sounds little and stupid I know, but it signifies the two sides of her brain linking up, and is just the begining of so many tasks, big and small, that she'll be able to accomplish in her life.

Addison Slideshow-Birth to 4 Months old

I put together this slideshow of all our favorite pictures since she was born. It's quite long (almost 10 minutes!) :-). I apologize if it seems a bit indulgent, but i have 4 and a half months to make up for. So when you have some time to kill, I hope you enjoy it!

Also, I forgot to let everyone know her "stats" from the doctor Monday. She is now 14 lbs. 5oz, and she's 24 in tall. I can't believe she's already grown 3 inches.

Drew's Viper!

We just found this video on Youtube of Drew and his Viper from last weekend. He met up with a bunch of other exotic car guys and they all went for a cruise. There were 7 or 8 Lamborginis, 5 Vipers, A couple Lotus', and a handful of Corvettes and Mustangs. Evidentally, there's usually even more there, but a lot of people were scared of rain this weekend. Drew is mad because he needs new tires, so they aren't sticking to the ground really well, and you can see that in this video. I still think it looks pretty cool. So check it out, and look for Drew in the Yellow Viper, he's about 1 minute and a half into the video.

Last Night

Here's a couple of videos from last night. She's working on sitting up. She can't do it from laying all the way down, but when she has a little help, she does pretty good. She's just growing so fast. She literally learns something new everyday. Incredible.

The second video is just us goofing around. :-)

Silly Girl

So Sunday Addison decided that she wanted to start doing raspberries and has been practicing ever since. I took this video of her while we were in the waiting room for her doctor's apointment, Monday. She had her second set of shots. :-( It is so sad to watch, but she was so very brave. I was proud of her. She cried of course when they stuck her, but she got over it quickly and I had her smiling in minutes. She's a tough cookie! Hope you enjoy the raspberry video as much as we have!

First Post

Well, after a little convincing from Katie, I decided to come over to the "blog" side. :-) It seems as though it will be a bit easier to maintain than myspace or facebook and more accessible to the people not signed up with them. So here it is...My first Post. Anti-climatic, I know....But I'm afraid Addison is NOT going to allow me to type anymore right now. :-)
