Ponies and Horsepower

What a day! It started with Drew and I getting up at 5:30 to go out to another exotic car meet this morning. I took my M Roadster and Drew took his Viper of course. Judy came over and babysat Addison for a little while, and it was so nice to get out alone with Drew. Sounds like she enjoyed spending the morning with the baby too.
Last month, they were raising money at the meet for a little boy who is fighting Cancer. Drew heard his favorite car was the Viper so he went.(see video in old post below). Noah wasn't able to make it, as his Chemo had run over into that weekend. We got a message that this month they had rescheduled his Chemo so he could be there. We also heard there was a Viper day at a nearby track, which meant most of them wouldn't be in attendance - So we had to go. We thought it would be terrible if little Noah postponed his chemo and then didn't have any Vipers show up.
This little boy and his family were AMAZING. I just don't know where people find strength like that. He is nine years old and has been fighting cancer since he was five. It just keeps coming back, starting in his skull, going to one lung, then the other and now it's back in his skull. A family friend told me she hadn't seen him smile as much as he was this morning in a very long time.
Drew took him for a spin in the Viper of course and when asked how fast it was, he stated, "It's faster than the pink roller coaster at Knott's Berry Farm!" Ha Ha. I told Drew that from now on, whenever people ask him how fast the Viper is, that has to be his response.
So the morning was nice and then this afternoon our friends Ryan and Meichelle had a birthday party for their daughter Irelyn. She was turning 4 and celebrating with a my little pony themed party. Much to everyone's surprise, real ponies showed up out front, along with a mini petting zoo with a very cute miniature goat and some bunnies. We had a blast, and at 5 months old, Addison went for her first pony ride!
After the party, Ryan and Drew went for a mountain bike ride, and Meichelle and I hung out with our kids. Addison and their son Declan, who is 2 months younger than Addison, ended up cuddling on the couch. It was cute until she decided to start sucking on his head.
Needless to say, we are all pretty tuckered out at the end of this fun day! Drew and Addison are already passed out, and I'm going to join them now.

California Girl!

She's getting really good at eating from a spoon and sitting up on her own. Just thought I'd post a couple of videos. :-)

My First Night Out!

Well, I had my first girls' night out since I can't remember when. Drew and I go out of course, but it's so much more work now with a baby. I was getting a little cabin fever so Drew suggested that I get tickets for Paula and I to go see Cirque Du Soleil. I didn't argue...

It was INCREDIBLE. I have wanted to see one of their shows for as long as I can remember. Always coming close, but not quite getting there.

Drew babysat of course...I had plenty of milk saved up. He did a fantastic job! It felt great to get out, but it was so hard to leave also. I drove Drew crazy checking in on him...ha ha. He is such a wonderful husband and father, and I can't thank him enough for always taking care of Addison and I, and doing everything possible to make sure we are happy.

Happy Valentines Day!

Hope everyone's Valentines Day was enjoyable! Ours was quiet, but nice. Drew brought me a dozen roses and Addison and I got him some chocolates and a nice dessert wine. Drew lit the fireplace in our room and we just hung out as a family. It was nice.

I have a few pictures to post here.

First, I have the pictures I took of Addison for her 5 month mark. Just thought they were cute. The quilt she is laying on is the one my mom made for her for Christmas.

And FINALLY I have pics of her room almost finished. All we have left to do is paint the little table next to the chair and changing table white, and put a portrait of some sort in the nook above the fireplace. This room has been quite the project! Drew and I painted the diamonds on the walls by hand. The bedding, curtains, and cornice box we had custom made by a baby room designer in San Diego. Judy had the rocking chair, ottoman and the rug custom made also. Let's just say that she is either going to grow up LOVING pink, or hating it. The giraffe you see is 6 feet tall and from FAO Shwartz. Drew said she absolutely needed it. You should have seen the face of the delivery man who brought this gigantic box to our door that simply said "GIRAFFE" on the billing slip. Ha ha!

Left Brain Meets Right Brain!

I'm so excited! We were sitting here playing with Addison this morning and when I handed her the pacifier in her left hand, she switched it to her right! YAY! Sounds little and stupid I know, but it signifies the two sides of her brain linking up, and is just the begining of so many tasks, big and small, that she'll be able to accomplish in her life.
